How To Stop Being Perfect And Finally Lose Weight

Our Perfectionism is holding us back from losing weight. If you have problems with your weight, perfectionism is something that you need to overcome. You can’t lose the weight and keep it off if you’re quitting every time you have a bad day, or eat something “off plan”. This post will show you why you aren’t broken if you have been struggling with staying on track, and why you need to let go of being perfect and focus on what matters instead – stacking positive habits daily.

Focus on one habit at a time.

Habits are not built overnight. It takes time and consistency to make a habit stick. You’re not going to change your entire life overnight. You need to focus on one thing at a time, and give yourself some time to adjust.

Get help from a friend or mentor.

We all need a little help sometimes. The best way to get that help is by finding someone who has been successful at achieving the kind of life you want, and asking them how they did it.

Set reachable goals.

Don’t set yourself up for failure by trying to do too much at once. Break down your goal into smaller, more manageable pieces and focus on one at a time. Each time you take a step toward your goal, give yourself a pat on the back and celebrate. You’re making progress!

Use habit tracking.

One of the best ways to make sure that you’re sticking with your goals over the long haul is by using a habit tracker. This can be as simple as writing down each day what you did toward your goal and how much progress you made.

Give yourself some slack.

You don’t have to be perfect. Give yourself permission to make mistakes and not be perfect all the time. Don’t beat yourself up when you do slip up—just use it as an opportunity to learn and get back on track.

Change your perspective on perfection.

Perfection is not necessary. Don’t get stuck on trying to do everything perfectly. Instead, focus on getting things done and moving forward. When you make progress, pat yourself on the back for doing a good job! Have fun with it! Remember, this is supposed to be fun—so enjoy yourself!

Takeaway: Perfection is overrated, and what matters is to do the best you can.
