Everyone has moments in their lives where they look back and regret not breaking out of their comfort zone and head out on a different path. My moment was in Feb 2018 where I was faced with a decision to stay with my current workout regime (which was at a stalemate) or get out and try something new (which scared the life out of me). I took a leap and signed up for the “No Sweat Intro” at Northern Touch CrossFit, a leap that has lead me to be in the best shape of my life and honestly the happiest I have ever been.
I always found the idea of a conventional gym unnerving. Working out in front of other people, not being able to lift weight like everyone else, and not having the time to put the work in were all excuses to never come out of my shell. At NTC I instantly felt welcomed. Erin lead me through the On-Ramp and taught me the basic CrossFit moves with great instruction. As a lifelong athlete with a background of high-level sports accolades, these workouts kicked my butt! This is what I wanted though, to break myself down of my old habits and start rebuilding myself with new exercises, a new community, and most importantly new goals.
Inside this box are two wonderful owners who care nothing more than seeing you improve yourself. Whether it be through emails, texts, social media, they are always there for you with check-ins and commendations. More than two years later after a lot of ups and downs in my life, I am at a point where I don’t know how to thank Erin, Darryl, and the other incredible coaches enough. I made a choice in 2018 to improve my life with NTC. Here I am two years later in the best physical and mental shape of my life with a community that helps push me and guide me even further. I’d say I made the right choice.
